Curlin's Nose Wins the Preakness

After 5 starts, Curlin has won 4, including the rematch
with Kentucky Derby winner...Street Sense.

Even though Calvin had the Street Sense, it was
Curlin by a small nose at the wire.

Both horses were well back in the field of nine as
they rumbled down the backstretch, but
as the race
unfolded, it looked as if Street Sense was on his way
to Belmont with 2 down and 1 to go for the coveted
Triple Crown.

But Curlin was up to the rematch and had the Derby
winner in his sights.

Although jockey Robby Albarado was thrown from his
ride, in 3 races earlier, he was able to use the the home
stretch in the Preakness to his advantage and used his
closing speed to notch a win.

Bottom line....the best horse won today and another
year will pass before another attempt to go 3 for 3.

Another great day in the storied history of the Preakness
and Pimlico.
