"Derby Day Has Tragic Ending"

Picture yourself on the day of the Kentucky Derby and you are gathered with
friends and family.

It is mid-afternoon and the Horse Race that everyone has been preparing for
and anxiously awaiting is just a few hours away. Everyone is gathered around
the huge spread of tempting delicacies ready to be consumed and watching
Uncle Paul slave over his masterpiece on the BBQ grill. Your taste buds are
ready to explode, when suddenly Marsha, a very close friend of yours,
stumbles and takes a little fall.

She quickly assures everyone that she is fine, because she had only tripped
over a brick, because of the new shoes that she had just purchased for the
annual Kentucky Derby party.
Uncle Paul offered to call paramedics, but she
insisted that she was fine.

They got her cleaned up and got her a new plate of food. While she appeared
a bit shaken up, Marsha went about enjoying herself, and witnessed one of
the most highly contested Kentucky Derby's in recent memory.

Marsha's husband called later that evening telling everyone that his wife had
been taken to the hospital emergency room - (at 8:43pm, Marsha passed
away). She had suffered a stroke at the BBQ.

A sad story indeed. Just think, Marsha could possibly be living today if only
her friends and family had known how to identify the signs of a stroke. The
outcome could have been significantly different, if just one person in
attendance had known the 3 critical stroke recognition steps.

If a stroke victim is not actually killed, they usually will end up in a helpless,
hopeless condition.

It only takes a couple of minutes to read this... Don't stop reading now!

A neurologist says that if he can get to a stroke victim within 3 hours, he
can totally reverse the effects of a stroke ....totally !

Can you grasp how powerful this really is?

What actually is a stroke? A stroke is the restriction of blood flow to the
brain causing paralysis, impaired speech, etc.

The key here is the recognition and diagnosis of a stroke, and then getting
the patient medically cared for within 3 hours.

Knowing the 3 easy steps/questions can help significantly. These are life
saving steps...commit them to memory and have your loved ones commit
them to memory too. You could actually take action today to save your
own life tomorrow.

Recognizing a Stroke On Derby Day or Any Other Day

Thank God for the sense to remember the "3" steps...

Read and Learn these easy steps and Teach everyone you know.
Send them this link... www.DiamondEagleBlog.com

The symptoms of a stroke are sometimes very difficult to identify.

Unfortunately, the lack of awareness could spell disaster. The stroke victim
may suffer severe brain damage when people nearby fail to recognize the
symptoms of a stroke.

Doctors are now saying that a bystander can easily recognize a stroke
by asking 3 simple questions of the victim.

Smile Ask the individual to SMILE

Talk Ask the person to TALK
Speak a simple sentence coherently...(Derby Day is a Fun Day)

Raise Ask him or her to RAISE both arms over their head

Another visual "sign" of a stroke is this...Ask the person to 'stick' out their
tongue...if the tongue is 'crooked'....if it goes to one side or the other,
that is also an indication of a stroke.

Now if the individual has trouble with ANY ONE of these tasks, call 9-1-1
immediately and describe the symptoms to the dispatcher.

Immediate Medical care is the only chance of survival.

A cardiologist says if everyone who gets this message sends it to 10
people; you can bet that at least one life will be saved.

I am not a medical doctor, nor pretend to be one, I am just providing
information that was given to me, in the hope that it would be of benefit
to you and yours.

Have Fun on Derby Day and may your Horse Handicapping skills bring
you prosperity during the "133rd Run for the Roses".

I am picking Diamond Eagle to win by at least a neck.
