Does the Preakness Make Sense?

It has been 29 years since the last Triple Crown Winner.

Smarty Jones in 2004 made the last valiant attempt to
win...back to back to back since Affirmed in 1978.

3 years later, we are all smarter, but will Pimlico have
the Sense?

The odds are not in the favor of Jockey Calvin Borel
and the popular Street Sense.

Street Sense is a great horse, but I have to be realistic.

He is no Secretariat, Affirmed, or Smarty Jones for that
matter.

Pimlico, the site of the Preakness, is 110 yards shorter
than the Kentucky Derby and opens the possibilities
to be a very exciting and fun to watch Horse Race.

Early speed and closing speed will be the factors
that get the most attention and action at the window.
The exotics may be the real story at the wire.

Street Sense has the ability to come from nowhere,
but may be challenged by Curlin, a Kentucky Derby
favorite and looking for payback, and Hard Spun.

Sedgefield and Teufesberg are also getting action.

Weather does not seem to be a factor this year.

Although Street Sense has touched the senses and
hearts of a lot of people and Horse Racing needs a
new Hero, I feel that he will need more than the rail
to win this $1 Million Dollar Race.

If Street Sense emerges as the winner in Pino
country, he will have had the aid of a "Wing
and a Prayer".

Bottom line....it's a Horse Race and on any
given Saturday your favorite could win.

Have fun, pick wisely, and may you profit.

Off to the Races...the Diamond Eagle
